Faculty of Labour Sciences
The Faculty of Labour Sciences of Cordoba has a rich history that dates back to its settlement in 1989. During the first years, the center started teaching studies on Social Degrees, laying the foundations of its commitment to labor related formation. Later on, in 1994, it got the name of University School of Labour Relations and started offering subjects in relation to that field from 1995/1996.
An important milestone on its trajectory took place the 14th of October, 1997, when the president of Junta de Andalucía inaugurated the current building of the University, located next to Jardines de la Merced (Plaza de Colón). This new infrastructure brought to the institution a modern and functional environment for the development of its academic activities and investigations. In 2002, a Bachelor’s Degree in Labour Sciences was introduced, leading to a new change in the name of the center, being renamed as Faculty of Labour Sciences. This academic progress expanded the opportunities of formation and specialization for students interested in the labor field.
With the objective of intensifying its offer even more, in 2005 Tourism Degree was added to the academic curriculum. This allowed the faculty to address the growing field of tourism, providing students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in tourism management, destination planning and sustainable development. Up to the present day, the faculty plays a prominent role in the city and the region, offering high-quality educational programs and training competent professionals in the fields of Labor Relations and Human Resources, as well as in Tourism. Students at the faculty benefit from a stimulating academic environment, where both theoretical and practical learning are encouraged, and active participation in projects and research is promoted.
