Although Cordoba is a medium-sized city which does not preclude walking to most of the most important areas, urban bus transport is a fundamental part of life for university students. The city has an extensive network of buses operated by Aucorsa<\/a>.<\/span> connecting the main points of the city, making it easy and accessible for students to commute to their universities, as well as to run errands and explore the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cordoba is also a university city, which means that it has a large number of students who depend on public transport. Buses are the most common means of transport used by university students, as they are cheap, convenient and reliable, as well as being a safe and comfortable way to get around the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the most important aspects of the buses in Cordoba is the “Bonob\u00fas”, which is a smart card system used to pay for journeys on the same vehicle, making use of a reduced fare per journey. They are available from numerous outlets<\/a>: <\/span>universities, supermarkets, kiosks, tobacconists, stationery shops, civic centres, or on the buses themselves. Once you have the card, you will pay aprox 0.72 cents for each journey, instead of the normal \u20ac1.30 per journey. In addition, a 30-day card is available for \u20ac33.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is very simple to use. The card is simply held up to the bus reader when boarding the bus, and the cost of the journey is automatically deducted from the balance on the card. San Alberto Magno, s\/n), it is best to take the <\/span>Line 2<\/b><\/a> at \u201c<\/span>Vallellano (Ministerios)<\/b>\u201d, and get off in \u201c<\/span>H. Reina Sof\u00eda<\/b>\u201d after 7 stops and walk 200 metres. You can also take the <\/span>Line 5<\/b><\/a> from \u201c<\/span>Avenida del Aeropuerto 1\u00aa<\/b>\u201d, get off after 8 stops and walk 300 metres. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you live in the district of Ciudad Jard\u00edn and you need to go to the Hospital Universitario Reina Sof\u00eda (Av. Menendez Pidal, s\/n), or to the Faculty of Medicine (Av. Men\u00e9ndez Pidal, 7), you will have to take the <\/span>Line 5<\/b><\/a> from \u201c<\/span>Avenida del Aeropuerto 1\u00aa<\/b>\u201d and get off at the University Hospital itself after 8 stops, or get off after 7 stops at \u201c<\/span>Colegios Mayores D.R. Sof\u00eda<\/b>\u201d and walk 200 metres. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you live in the district of Ciudad Jard\u00edn and you need to go to the Faculty of Law and Economic and Business Sciences, you must take the <\/span>Line 7<\/a> <\/b> in the same Plaza de la Costa del Sol, the stop <\/span>\u201cCostasol D.C\u201d<\/b> and get off at \u201c<\/span>Campo Madre de Dios<\/b>\u201d after 13 stops; you will just have to walk 150 metres. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you live in the district of Ciudad Jard\u00edn and you have to go to the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (Plaza del Cardenal Salazar), the best option is to walk, as it will only take you 10 minutes. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you live in the Ciudad Jard\u00edn neighbourhood and you go to Loyola University (C. Escritor Castilla Aguayo, 4), you can actually walk there in 20 minutes, but you can also take the <\/span>Line 5<\/b><\/a> at \u201c<\/span>Avenue. Aeropuerto 1\u00aa<\/b>\u201d and get off in \u201c<\/span>Doctor Juli\u00e1n R. Mart\u00edn<\/b>\u201d after 5 stops. You can equally take the <\/span>Line 2<\/b><\/a> in \u201c<\/span>Glorieta de Media Luna<\/b>\u201d (in front of Eurostars Palace), to get to the university after 6 stops. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you live in the city centre and go to the Faculty of Medicine, the University Hospital or the Faculty of Education you can take the <\/span>Line 2<\/b><\/a> from \u201c<\/span>Ronda Tejares (Doce Octubre)<\/b>\u201d and get off after 10 stops in \u201c<\/span>Colegios Mayores D.R.Sof\u00eda<\/b>\u201d, or, after 11 stops in \u201c<\/span>Hospital Reina Sof\u00eda<\/b>\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you live in the city centre and go to the Faculty of Law and Economics and Business Studies, you should take the Line 7<\/a><\/span> in \u201c<\/span>Ronda Tejares (C.Ca\u00f1o)<\/b>\u201d, get off after 8 stops at \u201c<\/span>Campo Madre de Dios<\/b>\u201d and walk 300 metres. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you live in the city centre and go to the Loyola University (C. Escritor Castilla Aguayo, 4), you must take the <\/span>Line 2<\/b><\/a> in \u201c<\/span>Ronda Tejares (Doce de Octubre)<\/b>\u201d, and get off at \u201c<\/span>Doctor Juli\u00e1n R. Mart\u00edn<\/b>\u201d after 8 stops. You will have to walk 200 metres. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you live in the city centre and you need to go to the Rabanales Campus, the best option is to take a train from the RENFE station (www.renfe.es), but there is also a <\/span>Line RB<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

which departs every day from the bus stop\u201c<\/span>Col\u00f3n Norte<\/b>\u201d Monday to Friday, at 7.25 a.m. and 8.13 a.m., and takes 30 minutes to arrive. For those who live in the Garden City, it would be better to take a train. <\/span><\/p>\n
